YoungBoy Never Broke Again is clearly a fan of Donald Trump's work after he named his previous album after the U.S. president's notorious slogan.
On Tuesday, January 20, Complex named YB the "greatest rapper alive in 2025" and featured him on the cover of its latest issue. During the magazine's interview, writer Jordan Rose asked the 26-year-old artist what the title of his eighth studio album, Make America Slime Again (MASA), meant to him. His response has left fans as divided as you would think.
"Follow whatever Trump applying," YB replied. "In every way... Enforce whatever Trump's applying. That's it."
YB didn't comment on what he meant by "enforce whatever Trump's applying." At the moment, his policies have sparked protests around the world due to his views on immigration, the excessive force from ICE on alleged illegal immigrants and American citizens, his push to acquire Greenland, and other controversial issues. Nonetheless, most people aren't shocked by the meaning behind the album's title.
YB dropped the album last year shortly after President Donald Trump pardoned him. He had just been released from prison after serving a year of his sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was supposed to spend five years on supervised release, but President Trump gave him a clean slate. Rose tried to ask the "Teary Eyes" rapper about his affinity for Trump following his pardon, but he repeatedly stated, "I don't know anything about that."
