Jadakiss appears to have revealed an anticipated aspect of J. Cole's final album roll-out that fans had been waiting on for years.
On Tuesday, January 20, Fat Joe and The LOX rapper dropped the latest episode of their podcast Joe and Jada. During their conversation, 'Kiss talked about Cole's forthcoming LP The Fall-Off and claimed the Dreamville co-founder plans to drop another mixtape before his album arrives.
"Shout out to J. Cole," Jadakiss began. "He got a project coming out called The Fall-Off and he got a mixtape where he used some of The LOX. He rhymed over 'Money, Power, Respect' and he rhymed over 'Can I Live.' Killed them s**ts."
Jadakiss said he heard the records and is convinced that Cole is preparing to reclaim his place as one of the greatest MC's in the game. While Fat Joe disagreed, Cole's fans believe 'Kiss might be on to something. J. Cole previously announced the release date for The Fall-Off and delivered a preview of "Track 2 Disc 2" with an elaborate music video. The video sent fans into a frenzy and gave them hope that they'll finally get to hear the long-rumored album.
If all goes according to plan, then the mixtape Jadakiss talked about might be called It's A Boy. J. Cole revealed the title in an outline of "The Fall Off Era" that he shared on social media in 2020. The layout began with his iconic feature run in 2019 and Revenge of the Dreamers III. Following his 2021 album The Off-Season, Cole listed It's A Boy and finally The Fall-Off, but never indicated release dates for either project.
As of this report, J. Cole has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of the alleged mixtape. We'll have to wait and see what Cole does ahead of The Fall-Off on February 6. For now, watch the latest episode of Joe and Jada below.
