The 2025 Black Effect Podcast Festival had numerous surprises for the thousands of fans who pulled up to the function.
On Saturday, April 26, the third annual event held by the Black Effect Podcast Network and iHeartRadio went down at Pullman Yards in Atlanta, Ga. During the one-day festival, podcast fans had a chance to see live tapings of their favorite shows, participate in panel discussions about pressing topics and had a chance to pitch their own podcast. The day began with hosts WeezyWTF and Mandii B of Decisions Decisions introducing the Trap Nerds Podcast, which set the tone for the rest of the day.
The lineup consisted of other trending podcasts including Funky Friday with Cam Newton, Woman Evolve with Sarah Jakes Roberts, Good Moms Bad Choices, R&B Money, and Naked Sports with Cari Champion. Each show host and their respective guests all brought so much energy to the main stage.
Good Moms Bad Choices hosts Erica and Milah had the entire audience turnt up after they busted out a few dance moves on the stage. Later, Cam Newton had special guest Porsha Williams for a rare edition of his show Funky Friday. He even recorded an impromptu episode with rapper Trinidad James once he got offstage.
Those weren't the only jaw-dropping moments of the day. Other shows like R&B Money turned the festival into a concert when they brought out their special guest Jacquees. The Atlanta-born singer came out on stage while singing his hit "B.E.D." He even invited his new artist Tyler Watts to join him for his conversation with Tank and J. Valentine. The show closed out with some good words between Sarah Jakes Roberts and her special guest Toya Johnson.
