Snoop Dogg is taking fans to church for Death Row's next album, and he's dedicating it to his late mother.

On Monday, April 14, the Death Row Records owner announced the plans for the label's forthcoming collaborative project Altar Call. In an exclusive statement he released to Okayplayer, Uncle Snoop explained the album will blend the sounds of Gospel, Hip-Hop & R&B. He revealed the album's cover art featuring a photo of his late mother Beverly Tate, who passed away at age 70 in 2021. He also confirmed the release date for the album and its first single.

“The spirit of my mother will forever live within me,” Snoop told Okayplayer. “This album is a reflection of what she has taught me — to use my voice and my platform to spread love and heal the world. Just another chapter out of the Bible of Love."

Snoop Dogg released his first gospel-inspired album Bible Of Love in 2018. Death Row's upcoming album will serve as a sequel with contributions from label mates October London and Jane Handcock as well as past collaborators like Mali Music and The Bereal Family. The album also features appearances from Jamie Foxx, Jazze Pha, Denaun Porter, Robert Glasper, and more. Snoop will also introduce the Death Row Mass Choir, who join him on the song "Help Me Jesus."

Altar Call will arrive four months after Snoop and Dr. Dre delivered their Missionary album. Look out for it on April 27.
