On Sunday, John Legend performed a surprise gig in Dayton, Ohio, for survivors of the recent mass shooting, including families of victims and people who worked in nearby bars. "I just played a few songs to try to help bring comfort to some of the survivors of last week's tragedy in Dayton," Legend posted on Instagram, along with a photo of him onstage at Blind Bob's. "My heart breaks for everyone who lost someone." In a press conference after the performance, Legend--who's a native of Springfield, Ohio, which is located 30 miles from Dayton--reiterated a call for action on reducing gun violence and called for reform. "Giving up is really not an option," he said. "We have to be able to live without the fear of being shot. We have to come together to make sure we do something about it."
