Chance The Rapper Reveals Title, Release Date & Artwork For Debut Album

Chance the Rapper finally gave fans the drop on his debut album.

On Tuesday (July 16), the Chicagoan revealed his first full-length project will be entitled, The Big Day — and even better: it's releasing next Friday (July 26). In the past, Chance has subtly hinted at details about his "debut album," but didn't break the news until this week's appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he also unveiled the LP's cover artwork too.

In true Fallon fashion, the surprise announcement came in honor of an apparent "deal" between the emcee and the funnyman backstage. Evidently, Chance agreed to detail his premiere project on the show so long as Fallon pre-ordered the record — terms of which the latter happily obliged.

The Big Day is a certainly big deal for the artist, born Chancelor Bennett, who as you know, has only self-released mixtapes. His latest effort, Coloring Book, dropped to wide acclaim in 2016 and garnered the lyricist three Grammy Awards, including for Best Rap Album — the first streaming-only album to claim the prestigious award.

According to Hypebeast, Chano's first work will be comprised of 20 tracks, with the only known offering being the project's apparent lead track "GRoCERIES" featuring TisaKorean and Murda Beatz.

Apart from The Big Day, another exciting project the 26-year-old has been hyping is his involvement in the upcoming live-action Lion King remake. With Donald Glover's co-sign, Chance landed a cameo bit as Bush Baby and was also requested to assist in the recording process for the movie's soundtrack at the behest of director Jon Favreau.
