Terrified Airline Passenger Woke Up Alone On Dark, Empty Plane

Late Night Flight

A woman flying on an Air Canada flight between Quebec and Toronto was terrified when she woke up on the plane in the middle of the night hours after it landed. In a Facebook post on Air Canada's page, a friend of Tiffani Adams shared a post describing her harrowing experience.

"I wake up around midnight (few hours after flight landed) freezing cold still strapped in my seat 💺 in complete darkness (I’m talking pitch black) as someone with and anxiety disorder as is I can tell you how terrifying this was..I think I’m having a bad dream bc like seriously how is this happening!!?!"

Adams pulled out her cellphone to call for help, but it died about a minute after she turned it on, and she could not charge it because the power on the jet had been turned off.

She managed to make her way to the cockpit where she found a flashlight. Now that she had a light, she was able to make her way to the exit door. When she opened it, she ran into more trouble. She was between 40 to 50 feet above the ground.

Adams looked around and couldn't see anybody because the aircraft was parked far from the airport terminal. Eventually, an airport employee saw her desperately waving the flashlight while dangling out the door and drove over in a baggage cart.

He used a ladder dock to get Adams down from the plane, and she was taken home.

Air Canada has been in contact with Adams and is investigating how she got left on the plane. Adams says that she is still trying to cope with the terrifying incident.

"I haven’t got much sleep since the reoccurring night terrors and waking up anxious and afraid I’m alone locked up someplace dark," she wrote.
